- LDAPS Authentication
LDAPS (LDAP over SSL/TLS) Authentication allows you to manage device access and authenticate users using an existing LDAP server, keeping the information secure. When LDAPS Authentication is enabled, the device will be locked until you enter your User ID and password on the device's control panel. LDAPS Authentication is a combination of LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), which is used to access directory information services, and the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols, which encrypt data, such as a print job, sent over a network.
Benefits
-
Prevent privacy violations, information leakage, and account hijacking when your device communicates with the LDAP server or Active Directory server.
-
Unlock your password-protected device safely by encrypting communication between your device and the LDAP server or Active Directory server.
-
Prevent possible data breaches when using your device's control panel to find fax numbers or email addresses stored in the LDAP server address book.
